Cookie policy

Version 2.1 · in effect from

A short list of what we store in your browser and why. Essential storage keeps you signed in and protects a booking in progress; everything else is off unless you turn it on.

1. What we store, and why

Cookies and similar browser storage let a website remember something between page loads. We use them for a small number of things and we would rather list them than describe them in the abstract.

The short version

Essential storage keeps you signed in and stops you losing a half-finished booking. Everything else is optional and off unless you accept it.

2. Essential — always on

These are needed for the site to work. They cannot be switched off, because without them you could not sign in or complete a booking.

  • Sign-in session — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Cleared when you sign out.
  • Booking draft — holds your answers while you work through the booking steps, so signing in partway through does not lose them. Stored for the browser session only.
  • Cookie choice — remembers the decision you made on the banner, so we stop asking. Kept for twelve months.
  • Terms notice — records that you have seen the current version of the terms, so the notice does not reappear every time you sign in.
  • Security — protects forms against cross-site request forgery.

3. We do not use optional or tracking technologies

Everything listed above is strictly necessary — the site cannot sign you in, take a payment or keep you secure without it. There is no optional category, because we do not use one.

  • No analytics — we do not measure which pages you visit or how you move through the site.
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking — no ad networks, no pixels, no re-targeting, and we do not sell or share browsing data.
  • No profiling — we do not build a behavioural profile of you, or use one to personalise what you see.

If that ever changes, we will ask first

Introducing anything optional would mean updating this policy, giving you a real choice, and honouring it. We will not switch tracking on quietly and describe it here afterwards.

4. Your control over this

Because everything we use is strictly necessary, there is no consent choice to make here and nothing we would switch on if you gave one. We show a short notice so you know what the site stores, not to ask permission for tracking we do not do.

You can block or delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. If you block essential storage, signing in and booking will not work — those are the parts that depend on it.

5. The law we work to

Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act requires meaningful consent for collecting personal information. Quebec's Law 25 requires that non-essential technologies are off by default. We apply the stricter standard to everyone rather than varying it by province.

What we do with information once collected is set out in the privacy policy. This document forms part of the terms of service.

6. Questions

Write to support@maplecrewservices.com. Requests about your personal information go to the person responsible for privacy, not the general inbox.

Plain-language summaries in shaded boxes are there to help you read the document. They are not a substitute for the clause they sit beside, and where they differ the clause governs.
