A good finish comes from what happens before the first coat: filling, sanding, cleaning and masking. Skipping that is why hurried paintwork looks hurried.
Your provider covers floors and furniture, prepares the surfaces, cuts in by hand around edges and applies the coats. Tell them the room size and the current colour so they can judge how many coats are realistic.
Good to know — Going from a dark colour to a light one, or covering a bold accent wall, usually needs an extra coat. Factor that into the hours you book.
