Timing matters more here than with most garden work. Aeration and overseeding do best in early autumn, when the soil is still warm and the weather is turning wetter.
Good to know — Tell your provider what you have noticed — bare patches, moss, yellowing, heavy shade. It changes which treatment actually helps rather than just adding fertiliser.
