Ice control is the job you book so that ice removal is never needed. A treatment applied before a freeze stops a bond forming between ice and the surface underneath, which is what makes cleared ground stay clear.

The window that matters is the one most people miss: the melt-and-refreeze after a sunny winter afternoon, and the hours before an early-morning frost. A provider on a seasonal arrangement watches the forecast so you do not have to.

Good to know — Ontario law makes the occupier responsible for keeping their property reasonably safe. If somebody slips on your walkway, when it was last treated is the question that gets asked.
